Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
DimeClip is a film-breakdown, highlight, and analytics tool built for youth and amateur basketball coaches. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because coaches upload game film that can depict minors, we treat that content with particular care — see Children & minors' footage below.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your email address, display name, and password. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your raw password.
- Team & roster information — team names, player names, jersey numbers, positions, and similar roster details you enter. This may include information about minors.
- Game film and media — videos, clips, photos, and thumbnails you upload, which may depict minors and other people on the court.
- Game data — scores, events, shot locations, tags, lineups, and notes you create or that our tools generate from your film.
- Communications — messages you send us for support or feedback.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregate information about which features are used, to help us improve the product. This is privacy-first and can be turned off in Settings; it is not tied to your identity and contains no film or roster content.
- Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, error reports) generated by our hosting providers to keep the service secure and working.
2. How we use information
- To provide the service — store your film, break it down, generate highlights, compute stats, and show analytics.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve DimeClip.
- To respond to your support requests and tell you about important changes.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, your film, or your team data. We do not use your film or roster data to serve advertising, and we do not use your private content to train third-party advertising or foundation models.
3. Children & minors' footage
DimeClip is built for coaches, team staff, and other adults — it is not directed to children and is not intended for children to use directly. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
We know that youth game film and rosters often include minors. When you upload that content, you act as the responsible adult for your team or organization, and you represent that:
- you are authorized by your team or club to upload and manage that content; and
- you have obtained any parental or guardian consent required by your league, school, or local law to record those minors and store that footage in a cloud service.
For minors' content, DimeClip acts as a service provider (data processor) that stores and processes the footage on your behalf and on your instructions. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or use DimeClip directly. A parent or guardian may request that we remove footage or information about their child — contact support@dimeclip.com or your team's coach, and we will remove it promptly. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
4. How information is shared
- Within your team — coaches, staff, and members you invite to a team can see that team's film, roster, and analytics, according to the role you give them.
- Service providers — we host DimeClip on Google Cloud and Firebase, which store data and run our services on our behalf as sub-processors. They are bound to protect the data and use it only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of DimeClip, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if DimeClip is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, information may transfer as part of that deal; we will notify you of any change in who controls your data.
5. Where data is stored & how we protect it
Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, primarily in the United States. We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and authentication to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and during the private beta some features are still being hardened — please don't upload anything you are not authorized to store in the cloud.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your account and content while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. You can delete games, film, and your account at any time. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from active systems and from backups within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it to comply with the law.
7. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — view and edit your roster, game, and account data in the app.
- Deletion — delete individual games, film, or your whole account; or email us to do it for you.
- Export — request a copy of the data associated with your account.
- Analytics opt-out — turn off anonymous usage analytics in Settings at any time.
To exercise any of these, email support@dimeclip.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA; we honor those rights where they apply.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as DimeClip evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of DimeClip after a change means you accept the updated policy.
